Production locations are often a matter of choice. We say go where your creativity flows
People say the Danish are among the happiest people in the world. They also say Copenhagen is one of the world’s best cities to live in. The waterfront location, architecture, culture, and citizens – the people of Copenhagen – are an appealing mix. The Copenhageners excel in combining simple and sustainable solutions with a casually sophisticated way of life. A lifestyle based on tradition, history, and culture; yet constantly on the move. Copenhagen strikes a harmonious balance between old world charm and the progressive beat of a modern cosmopolitan city.
The Copenhagen area is where the Denmark film industry is concentrated. We’re internationally known for productions like “The Killing” (2007), “The Bridge” (2011), “Borgen” (2010), and “Follow the Money” (2016).
And it is in Copenhagen where we founded our production service company in 2011. We’ve proven as adept at working on long-format productions as on high-scale commercials. We’re 100% dedicated to supporting foreign client shoots with a full production service package:
– World class film crews – State of the art equipment – Unique cast – Stunning Scandinavian locations.
In Denmark there is a range of different sceneries, landscapes, historical buildings, and famous, award-winning architecture.
With our in-house location manager and local partners, we will help you find exactly what you have imagined as the perfect setting for your shoot. We’ll also organise permits, transportation, and accommodation in central Copenhagen.
The Danish capital is a film-friendly hub with a townscape blending new and old architecture to create a unique and innovative metropolis. Light, water, open spaces, and sustainability are key elements of the recent architectural boom. The emergence of bold urban planning and world-class architecture is most prominent in four key parts of the city, namely Ørestad, Nordhavn, City Centre, and not least along Copenhagen’s waterfront. The proximity to and reflection of the water on these new buildings are a common characteristic.
Bjarke Ingels is a superstar of Danish architecture in the 21st Century. As the group’s name implies, B.I.G. has fittingly left its mark all over Copenhagen with designs including 8-Tallet, VM Houses, VM Mountain, and Superkilen urban park.
Copenhagen is also rich in historic buildings. The stand-out legacy of King Christian IV includes Holmen’s Church, the Stock Exchange, Regensen, Rosenborg Castle, and Trinity Church with Round Tower.
Despite its small size, Denmark is home to one of Europe’s longest and most juxtaposed coastlines. The spectacularly violent North Sea pounds Denmark’s west coast, known for wide sandy beaches with high dunes. The shoreline on the northern and eastern part of Sjælland is characterized by mixed rock and sand beaches and a beautiful hilly terrain.
The many forests and fields of Denmark make it colourful at all times of year. Large swaths of yellow, green, and brown hues characterise the landscapes just a few kilometres outside the city centre and serve as a palette for a completely unique painting from the air. The woodlands range from dark and deep territories dense with conifers to bright and lush countryside forested with birch, beech, and chestnut trees.
No denying that our winter days are short at 8-10 hours and cold in northern Europe. But it is important to know the specific local conditions that can vary considerably. The summer brings 18-hour days with high temperatures reaching about 30 degrees Celsius.
No matter the time of year you aim to shoot, we are committed to excellence at presenting you with every available option for your project. Please contact us for a quote.
