Zoltan began as a journalist whose research on mass media, particularly TV shows, became a reference still used a decade later by most Hungarian university studies on the topic.
[cont.] That success led to his founding a production company with his partner, Ivan, where they have both excelled.
Though initially specialized in documentary production, they soon realized the market potential in Hungary and widened the scope to service productions of genres including commercial, film, TV, corporate, and still photo.

APT Tours River Cruise | Unforgettable
Production Service in Hungary
This 8-day shoot called for our production support and location management in three different countries, often working on-board and on shore simultaneously. Scouting covered 2500 kilometers in 5 days. The preproduction and shoot schedule were prepared in parallel with the cruise ship schedule through Central Europe at some 20 different stops, sights, and events.
“How does a small production company in Melbourne find a great partner company in Central Europe? And when it is not really a conventional production – just a small, happy, hard working crew? We don’t know people there, we don’t know how they work, and we don’t speak their language. Where do you start? Easy, really. You just call PSN. Total solution. Recommended great, great people. Best job,” says Mr. Smith Producer Helene Nicol.
The story features two couples on a luxury cruise line making picture-postcard stops along the Rivers Danube and Rhine in Hungary, Austria, and Germany. The 135-meter ship is the biggest picture vehicle our local team had worked with to date. Land-based coordination with the ship’s captain via radio enabled a memorable passage of the vessel under Budapest’s Chain Bridge at the magic hour. It was a touching moment to see this World Heritage site in the background while the ship cruised down the historic waterway.
Our thanks to Helene Nicol and the Mr. Smith crew for trusting in PSN to deliver.
“Michael and his partners have pulled together the best network of charming, hard working, reliable folks who you just know are going to contribute so much to deliver a great job,” continues Helene. “Our experience was so outstanding that we repeated a month later with PSN in Canada. And we will do again.”

Hungary
Budapest is a top choice for those who want to spend time in a creatively flourishing city where a smooth, safe and easygoing production brings creative ideas to life
At the heart of Europe is Budapest, where a blend of cultures has pulsed through the city for 500 years. This colorful history has left its mark on Hungary and its capital city. A great variety of location styles in Budapest act as a magnet for creatives who are working in the film and photo industry.
Film production in Hungary has a rich, century-old history. At the beginning of the 1940’s, the Hungarian film industry was ranked third largest in Europe. This deep-rooted tradition is as alive and well in every segment of the industry as it is among civic leaders. The 30% tax incentive for feature films, TV and documentaries, and the extremely fast 4-day public location permitting process demonstrate the film-friendly approach to film and photo shoots across the wide range of locations in Budapest.
Over the past two decades numerous Hollywood productions have chosen to shoot in Hungary. This activity has boosted the resources available in every part of the film industry. For example, Budapest has 29 first-class soundstages with one of the biggest in the region. It’s also home to a pack of film-friendly wolves. The crews speak English and all of them are well experienced in a wide range of international productions with an average of 220 working days per year.
The results provide for an easy and convenient workflow from prep to wrap, but there’s no overlooking the biggest local draw are the locations in Budapest: the colorful variety of different architectural styles from gothic to contemporary, baroque palaces, marble ballrooms, Formula 1 racetracks or even abandoned, offbeat places making Hungary an inspiring environment for creatives. What’s more, it’s a productive place where the friendly approach can secure a shoot in a 150-year-old train station, an old Royal Palace or in the marvelous National Opera House, to name a few of the many treasures that await.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Production Service in Austria
MRF Tyres launches an Alpine love affair in Europe with the ZLO campaign airing during the Formula 1 season. And, as always, finding the right partners makes all the difference.
“Shooting in Europe for the first time, we were apprehensive of the variables involved in a shoot outdoors in the mountains, given it was already winter,” says BWP Totem Producer Raja Menon. “We got in touch with a bunch of production service companies and finally settled on PSN, mainly because their honest, no nonsense feedback made us feel most comfortable. When the budget was too tight for Spain, PSN came up with solutions to work within our budget.”
Those solutions are what the Production Service Network (PSN) is all about.
Director John Francis envisioned a dramatic roadway shoot featuring a Jaguar with MRF ZLO tyres managing hairpin turns. From its cost-effective and strategic position in Eastern Europe, the PSN partner company scouted various locations in the Austrian Alps so as to allow for unpredictable autumn weather. A series of locations were finally chosen during a stormy tech recce based on the most promising weather forecasts.
While the crew geared up for a two-day shoot on Red cameras using a full camera car grip package and aerial photography from aboard an octocopter, production managed a few more hairpin turns in planning. The Jaguar car sporting MRF ZLO tyres was locked in as the client’s choice with just enough time to wrap it in red, tint the windows, and fit non-regulation rims shipped from Germany especially for the product.
“It was a tough shoot with a lot of last minute details, dicey weather, visa issues, etc, but the ability to react quickly, an understanding of our requirement, and great communication with the teams on the ground meant we pulled it all together to get as perfect a shoot as was possible,” adds the BWP Totem Producer.
Though trans-Alpine storms ultimately forced a re-think of some shots, the inconvenience also delivered snowy peaks, alluring cloud-cover, and a splash shot that are authentic eye-candy.
The final results are a credit to the crack creative team working with top-drawer production support at such a privileged location.
Raja concludes he’ll “look forward to many more associations in the near future.”

Production Service in Austria
To shoot with Oscar-winning living legend Julie Andrews is a memory to last a lifetime. Particularly when it happens in the most beautiful and probably the most famous filming locations in Austria. The entire crew was mesmerized listening to her memories about the legendary film, The Sound of Music.
As all revolved around our star talent, VIP treatment and remote data management of this 3-camera shoot in 4K were top considerations managed by a crew of 20 from Austria as well as neighbouring Hungary to achieve some cost savings.
“Both individually and collectively, you exceeded our highest hopes, combining professionalism, artistic imagination, practical speed, clarity of communication, and as much kindness and generosity of spirit as any producer could hope to find.”

Austria
Right in the middle of Europe, Austria is a very attractive shooting destination for film and photo productions
The country’s main attractions are not just the wonderful cities and towns but also its majestic natural beauties.
Austria is the best choice for those who are looking for amazing natural beauty or well-maintained, classic European architecture.
The capital, Vienna, was the center of Europe’s biggest empire in the 19th Century, and it still preserves the old imperial touch with its buildings and streets. The state of Austria puts huge effort toward maintaining the most beautiful historic buildings, such as the old emperors’ palace, the Hofburg; or one of the world’s biggest baroque libraries – the Austrian National Library. At the same time, Vienna puts emphasis on the modern face of the city. In recent decades, a brave, state-of-the art architecture has left its fingerprint on Vienna and created a new atmosphere.
Besides Vienna and the friendly mountain villages, Salzburg’s baroque old town and its natural surroundings evoke the heart-warming world of the famous musical The Sound of Music and the age of Mozart.
These are all very unique features of Austria, but the country’s nature is just simply breathtaking. Crystal-clear lakes and rivers, fabulous snow-capped mountains with spectacular mountain roads, lush green meadows, and pinewoods. All of them are very easily accessible, as the country’s infrastructure is one of the best in Europe.
This is also true for the marvellous ski resorts in the Alps. Some of them are available all year long, so a campaign requiring snowy mountains in the summer is still easily doable. Many Hollywood productions choose Austria for its snowy mountains.
Austria has a very positive approach to film and photo productions, and the state is very open to foreign productions–not just for feature films and documentaries but for commercials as well.
Regarding production facilities and crews, Austria pretty much relies on its international background, depending on which part of the country we shoot in. There are local crews and providers like Arri Rental, but Budapest, Munich, and Prague also provide critical resources. To keep Austria an affordable shooting destination, PSN services it from a branch office in Vienna that is supported by neighboring Hungary. This enables PSN to support international shoots with a cost-effective balance.
We are looking forward to welcoming you.
